The story of
- 20 HA
- Soil type
- Tendency toward clay with large percentage of sand. Granite rich soil
- vermentino, cannonau and bovale sardo
- a winery registered with the supervisory syndicate of Vermentino di Gallura D.O.C.G.
The soil on which the farm lies is particularly rich in clay, sand and granite.
This latter element makes Mura wines unique with their typical expression of the Gallura region.
In fact, during some periods of the year, after cultivation of the soil, you can see the rows of chromatic hues ranging from crushed red clay to the softer hues of the sand. All enriched by fragments of shimmering granite and purple quartzite.
The continuous air flow that results from the ocean current meeting the winds from the distant mountain make the climate very pleasant, but never too hot.
The unique vineyard is in front of the cellar, which is useful for processing very fresh grapes.
Cultivation is based on Guyot pruning.
The Mura wine estate is enriched by the preservation of a part of the old vineyards, which was planted by founder Filippo in 1975.
The cellar, restructured over the years, has now been expanded with the construction of an underground barrel cellar, in which the wine is matured in fine wooden vats and aged in the bottle.
The ground floor takes in new grapes and processes them.
Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in steel tanks with temperature control.
It forms part of the Loiri porto San Paolo municipality, a few kilometers south of Olbia and the lovely beaches of Porto Istana, Capo Coda Cavallo and the Island of Tavolara.
